  • This is a 90-second Virtual Reality* game called Nutrients for Life. As players virtually farm they apply Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), and water to a field based on 4R Nutrient Stewardship.

    This game is fun for all ages on desktop, but if playing virtually it is recommended for players 8+

  • Students learn about patterns and get creative by sketching the patterns they observe on objects around the schoolyard. Wrap Up: compare sketches and discuss what patterns might mean ie: pores, veins, pollen, etc.

  • Students test their plant knowledge by matching each clue to the plant associated with it. Wrap up: Go over the answers after students attempt to find the answers first.

  • This activity will compare two types of plants in the garden: woody and herbaceous. Students will have to find an example of each, compare, and answer questions on the activity sheet provided. Wrap up: Discuss students’ answers and similarities/differences between two types of plants.

  • Discuss deciduous plants and plant structure: twig, bud, bud scale scar, bark and lenticels. Students choose a deciduous plant and complete the drawings and measurements on the worksheet. Wrap-up: share last year’s plant growth and discuss factors that affected the plants’ growth over the last year.
